FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards 2018

Ultramed has been awarded the Micro Business of the Year (South West) in the Federation of Small Business Awards 2018. The awards showcase the best small businesses from the UK, offering national recognition. Expert small business judges select the winners in 12 areas across the UK.

The FSB Awards promote and recognise innovation, enterprise and accomplishment; so we are delighted to have won the award and have made some room on the awards shelf to house the trophy.

As a South West winner we now have the chance to be recognised as one of the UK's ‘best of the best’ at the FSB Awards national finals later 2018.

Case Study: Improving PreOperative Assessments with Ultramed

Ultramed has been featured as a case study for University of Exeter Business Expertise. In the video Dr Paul Upton talks about improving PreOp services in the NHS, and wider healthcare, using Ultramed's innovative online PreOperative Assessment software.

Through working with the South West Centre of Excellence in Satellite Applications (SWSoE), Ultramed had generated seed funding to help further develop MyPreOp and to gain bigger grant opportunities. In addition to the funding Ultramed has benefited from the University networks.

Working with Crowdcube, a former tenant of the University’s Innovation Centre, Ultramed raised the funding target within 2.5 days and ultimately over-funded by 300 per cent in late 2017.

As a result of the SWSoE and the University networks the future is looking bright for Ultramed and its innovative contribution to the NHS and wider health sector.
